About a month ago I worked on a shoot for Green Beans Coffee, a company you may not know unless you happen to be stationed on a far away base in a dangerous land. Then you know them well as a cafe to relax at and get a taste of home and as a company that dedicates part of its profits to giving back to those who serve.
Now they are bringing their high quality coffee and food to the rest of us! I worked with amazing food stylist Randy Mon and we spent several days photographing their delicious sandwiches, soups, salads and pastries. I spent another day photographing their roasting facility. I loved the old world vibe! What a great company and what a great project! Here are a few favorites…
I started the year off with a two-day shoot for MyFoodMyHealth.com a really great website that I work on from time to time with food stylist Pouké Halpern and styling assistant Christina Milne. We’ve done over 600 recipes for the website that is all about treating health conditions with healthy, easy-to-make recipes. Start the year out healthy, check out MyFoodMyHealth.com.
I’ve photographed many websites lately and one of my favorites is Gift a Feast. I worked closely with Gypsy Achong as she developed her gift basket business that’s based on the very best local artisan food. From chocolates, toffee, and honey to olives, salames, flat bread, cheese, and even a tea ceremony set, she’s curated the best of the bay area. After selecting your gift you also choose the wrapping paper and then it’s sent with a hand written card. Check out her website, see what I’ve been working on and order a gift in time for the holidays. You will become very popular…
Here are a few favorites from a fun shoot for the Green Girl Bakeshop website. Lisa Stoy, the owner, founder, and maker creates some incredibly delicious gluten-free, dairy free ice cream sandwiches and ice creams. There’s nothing artificial in her products. Using ingredients like coconut milk and oil, maple syrup, cashews and brown rice flour, everything’s simple and organic. Visit her at local East Bay farmers markets: Montclair Village Oakland or Kensington Market on Sundays, and Berkeley Market (Adeline Street) on Tuesdays.
Updating photos of Sandy Newman’s 100 acre farm and vineyard in Santa Barbara… What a fun job! Check out more photos and her new website
It’s always a shock to go from the arctic summer weather of San Francisco to the heat of anywhere else, but not too long ago I was lucky enough to escape to Sonoma for the first annual Huge Bear Picnic! The start of a tradition involved celebrating with bold, refreshing Huge Bear Wine and a dinner featuring homegrown tomatoes, vegetables and berry cobbler.
Meredith Leahy, the Huge Bear winemaker pours the cab.
