I love to photo cocktails (and drink them) and I’ve been lately I’ve been doing both for Oakland Magazine’s cocktail column. In every issue the writer finds a delicious drink and gets the recipe from the bartender. I also photo cocktails for Oakland Magazine restaurant reviews too. Between the two, I thought I’d share some favorites…
Of all the cocktails photographed here my favorite was the Pimm’s Cup. It’s made from Pimm’s No. 1, a spirit from Great Britain. You can get a recipe from www.foodandwine.com, but it’s so dangerously easy why even bother. Just mix Pimm’s with ginger ale or lemon-lime soda one to one. Add fruit— apples, oranges, cucumber, mint and ice and you’ve got a great way to end the day. Or, for the best version, stop by East End Restaurant and Bar in Alameda.
